COUNTRIES VISITED: TANZANIA, KENYA
Day 1/2/3 Zanzibar
(Own Arrangements)
On this optional activity a transfer by ferry takes you to Zanzibar where you will spend the next few days exploring this fascinating island. Stone Town is the capital and is full of interesting architecture and facinating locals. These few days are at your own expense and costs vary depending on your preferred level of accommodation and activities. Optional Activities: Zanzibar Excursion: Ferry ticket, Food, Accommodation, Spice Tours, Dolphin Tours, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling.
Day 4/5 Zanzibar/Dar es Salaam – Arusha
Camp D
Today you leave Zanzibar and catch a late ferry (or flight) back to Dar es Salaam and return to the campsite. The next day we take a long and scenic drive to Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania. After arriving in Arusha, those who are going to explore the Serengeti National Park, prepare for their excursion.
Day 6/7 Serengeti/Ngorongoro
Camp B,L,D
The next two days are spent exploring the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. En-route from Arusha there is opportunity to barter for traditional crafts and beadwork at the roadside stalls on the way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The first glimpse of the Ngorongoro Crater is an unforgettable experience. Although commonly referred to as a crater, it is actually a caldera. At over 20 km’s across and 600m deep the Ngorongoro Caldera is the largest unbroken, un-flooded caldera in the world and clear testimony to this regions volcanic history. The 14 763 square kilometres of the Serengeti is made up of a variety of different habitats – plains, kopjes, river and forest. The vast size of Tanzania’s premier National Park makes game viewing only one aspect of the Serengeti - the scenery is simply breathtaking. A good camera is an essential item to take with you as well as lots of spare batteries, memory chips, film…
Day 8 Arusha
Camp B,L,D
Getting together again after our various game viewing activities in the game parks, we spend our last night in this beautiful country exchanging 'big game' stories around the campfire.
Day 9 Kenya – Nairobi
Tour Ends Own Arrangement B,L
After crossing the border into Kenya we continue to travel towards Nairobi and the end of our journey. Although our tour has ended some groups like to spend this evening at local restaurant. Optional Activities: Dinner at Carnivore Restaurant.
