Ross Kennedy, the Chief Executive of Zimbabwe based tourism group, Africa Albida Tourism, has been appointed to the Board of Advancing Tourism To Africa (ATTA) for 2010.
The recognition which such an appointment brings means “the world” to the born and educated Zimbabwean. “At last we can shout in our corner and be heard”, says Ross who believes his new position on the board will not only be key for raising awareness and concerns on behalf of Southern Africa, but even more so for Zimbabwe.
His pivotal role and past achievements in expanding Africa Albida Tourism’s operations beyond its Victoria Falls base as well as being heavily involved in industry affairs in Zimbabwe, being a founder member of the Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching unit, being the spokesman and founder member of the hugely successful GoToVictoriaFalls.com destination campaign amongst others, has justifiably earned him his prestigious seat on ATTA’s board for 2010.
A comment from a well know player in the travel industry believes that “there is a need for qualified, passionate and very able colleagues to be in the driving seat of associations of this influence, and Ross’s appointment is heartening and bodes well for the vision of increasing inbound numbers to Southern Africa.”.
