Ethiopia is a land with a rich history and cultural influence in both the middle-east and North Africa, the land offers much to explore, Ethiopia tours provide an insight into a culture that stretches back millennia. Nomad tours understand that it takes more than a tour bus to truly appreciate a country. Our Ethiopia travel experience allows you to discover the country beyond the tourist attraction and popular sights. The rich culture of the indigenous people will be shared with you and leaving you feeling richer and more in touch with the culture and country you went to visit. Ethiopia spent much of its history as a monarchy and the culture that it created is still visible today in the way people lead their lives and in the way the country in governed.
We offer two tours of Ethiopia one that focuses on the attraction in the South of the country which we have named “Cultural Ethiopia” and one which focuses predominantly on the north of the country called “Historical Ethiopia.” With both of these Ethiopia tours you will be shown the country as it really exists. Our sound knowledge of the local way of life ensures that your Ethiopian travel is more than just a holiday. Although don’t get us wrong, all your needs will be taken care of and it will be a restful and memorable vacation.
The history of Ethiopia is both interesting and at time frightening, now though, it is a peacefully well governed country and an essential stop on any African trip. The Southern tour starts in Addis Ababa and lasts for ten days taking in Lake Chamo, in the Rify Valley and Nechisar National Park and a Konso Village in the first few day. The South Omo region which we also visit is a place of such cultural rarity we are certain nothing else like this exists anywhere else in Africa, these people were unaware of the existence of Ethiopia as a country until 50 years ago. At the end of the cultural Ethiopia tour we will take in the Bale Mountain range which is home to the Simien wolves.
Our second Ethiopian tour, the Historical Ethiopia tour takes place north of Addis Ababa and incorporates as much beauty and cultural heritage as the first. We take in the Blue Nile falls, the Lake Tana Monastery, the Palaces at Gondar built by the various emperors throughout the history of the country. The strange city in the mountains of Lasts is located at 2600 m above sea level. It contains 11 monolithic churches, carved out of the pink granite rock in the 11th century, classified as one of the real wonders of the world this amazing testament to a historical culture cannot be missed on an Ethiopian tour.
