Nomad African Trust

African Development Trust

The Nomad African Trust was founded in April 2008 by Nomad Adventure Tours.

The Trust intends focusing its energies on Southern Africa and believes it is impossible to separate the well being of the people, places and animals from one another.

The Trust aims to access funding from all players in the tourism industry, from the clients and the agents, to the operators and service providers in order to help and protect the very people, places and animals that these parties earn their living from.

As such we aim to provide focused and specific help across these three fronts.

Our goal is to effect real change by ensuring funding is spent in such a way so as to create permanent and long lasting benefits to our beneficiaries.

Please take a few moments of your valuable time to peruse our materials and seriously consider the possibility of joining us in this exciting new adventure.

Our vision is that of a land where people live in harmony with the earth and the creatures that live upon it.

FUND DISTRIBUTION
The Nomad African Trust is determined to direct as much of the donors money to the beneficiaries as is possible. We intend to ensure 70% of the funds reach the recipients in year one, the balance being utilised for trust administration. We anticipate that this figure will rise to 90% by the end of 2010.

NEW PROJECTS
As discussed previously, the Trust intends supporting existing projects at this stage. As funding increases we intend building our own projects that will assist the people, places and animals of Africa in the best possible way. While we have several possibilities on the drawing board we intend launching our first project by year end. The goal is, with your help, to have six projects by 2010.

PEOPLE
Our goals for the people of Southern Africa are:
To have a real impact on population growth control.
To help people help themselves by way of job creation.
To assist communities on a basic needs level.
To spend the majority of our efforts in rural based programmes.

PLACES
Our objectives for the places of Southern Africa are:
To help limit the environmental impact of people and businesses.
To safeguard diversity.
To include the urban environment in our plans.
To focus on some of the lesser known, but no less spectacular regions.

ANIMALS
Our focus for the animals of Southern Africa are:
To have a real effect on breeding and the relocation endeavours in Southern Africa.
To focus on some of the lesser known but no less important species.
To make real headway in the field of anti-poaching and protection.

We seek to uplift the people of Africa through family planning, basic needs provision and job creation.
To protect the magnificent places of this huge continent by finding better ways for man to interact and work with the land. And to safeguard its diverse and awe inspiring wildlife, great and small, through breeding, conservation and education.
