Botswana Safari - The Complete Fun

[Please note these articles below are for your information but are not necessarily written by ourselves.]

Botswana, according to many is the very best of Africa with its beef, diamonds, tranquility and peace. And the best way to experience Botswana is to take a Botswana safari.

The best time of the year to visit Botswana for weather and game viewing is April through to October as it is during this time of the year that the wildlife gather around where they can find water.

To enjoy magnificent views of big cats and elephants then a Botswana safari to the Chobe National Park is the safari for you.

The Chobe National Park is the second largest National Park in Botswana and is home to one of the largest populations of elephant in Africa. In fact there are approximately 120,000 elephants in this park and it is claimed that they are the largest elephants in the world.

The Chobe is made up of four regions, the Savuti marshalands, the Linyanti Swamps, the Serondela and the Hinterland. Each having its own eco-system and uniqueness.

A Botswana safari that includes a visit to the Chobe National Park will let you benefit from the diversity of landscapes plus you will enjoy a fantastic bird-life that is only rivaled by the animals that call this park home.

To make your Botswana safari complete then a visit to the Okavango Delta would compliment the Chobe National park perfectly.

The Okavango Delta is a great network of marshland, channels and lagoons that were created when the Okavango River descended from the Angolan highlands.

Although the Okavango Delta is ideal for walking safaris it is also fun to be transported along the shallow lagoons and channels in a hollowed out tree canoe called a Mokoro.

Here, you will see crocodiles feasting on fish and any grazing animal they can catch plus hippos wading in the cool waters.

An assortment of grazing animals enjoy the grasslands and forest that surround the swamps here and this in turn attracts the leopards, large cats, lions and cheetahs. Plus, here you will also see more elephants and giraffes.

To enjoy both these wondrous places in Botswana then you need to take a Botswana Explorer. This is an eight -day safari and you will stay in comfortable lodges and enjoy fantastic game activities and boat cruises.
